DID THEY SERIOUSLY MAKE CORA APOLOGIZE FOR HER WORK??
I don’t remember the exact quote but it was something like “I know I’ve been neglecting you”
would they have Cora apologize for the fact that Robert can’t deal with a changing world (a world changing in ways that undermine his privilege and give more rights to women) (a world changing in ways that make him extremely uncomfortable because he relies on his privilege and refuses to examine it) and used his inability to evolve as an excuse to be unfaithful to his stunning wife?? WHY.
That line singlehandedly validated his privilege and invalidated the agency and independence her work brought her! Maybe that’s not what was intended but that’s what came across, because at no point did anyone question her need to apologize.
